Third Years win their first basketball game at 39-29 vs First Years
The third years soared past the first years at the basketball game held in Trinity University last Wednesday, November 4. The game ended at 39-29, with the third years winning their first basketball game so far. One of the most valuable players in the game was Ongkeko (#10), from the third year, which scored 20 points within the whole game.
It was a tight start, as the first quarter ended in a tie between the two teams, with the first years scoring consecutively, while the opponent tried to catch up at the latter minutes of the quarter. However, the following quarters did not favor the first years as the opponent kept scoring point after point, leaving them behind by a small margin. The first years need to step up their game as the basketball team haven’t won a single game yet.
Second years showed no mercy vs the third years in volleyball match
The second years won the mixed volleyball match against the third years within two consecutive sets, just after the basketball game in Trinity University. Both the first and second sets ended in a 25-14 score in favor of the second years. Notable players were Ang, J. (#07), and Villangca (#13) from the second year team, who dominated the first set. The bulk of the points from the set may also be owed from service shots alone by these two players.
The second year team proved their power as they again gave no mercy and left their opponents behind, not giving them a chance for their own set. Victory was met, and the second years garnered their 2nd consecutive volleyball win. [x]
