TRINITY HIGH SCHOOL GYM - A talented first year squad surprised the third years as Batch 2019 dominated the court on both ends, defeating Batch 2017 in a decisive fashion.
1st year vs. 3rd year Volleyball
The third years could not solve their reception woes as the first years rained down a barrage of service aces to the Batch 2017 squad who had their previous win against the second years Monday night.
The smaller line up of the 1st year squad proved to be a non-factor, as they were able to answer every attempt of the third years for a run in the 1st set, ultimately clamping down against their error-prone opponents towards a 25-11 first set.
The second set resulted to the third years showing their fighting spirit as they ran off to an 17-13 lead.
But the 1st year Volleyball team proved to be too much as they rallied to tie the game to 18-18, eventually taking over the lead and winning the game with a score of 20-25 in the second set.
2nd year vs. CiFaSt-Alumni Volleyball
Players from CIFASt volleyball team hurdled their way to conquering the struggling second year volleyball team.
The CIFASt team kicked off the first set as the second years had a rough start upon committing service and attack errors.
The second years then struggled to survive with their vigilant defense and consecutive aces done by Mark Aragones.
The game started to heat up and the first set ended by the CIFaSt-Alumni team with the score of 20-25.
The second set was then fueled by relentless fightback from the second years upon claiming the lead for the first half.
A series of swift blocking was done by Batch 2018's Team Captain Francis Villangca to counter the attack from the CIFASt team.
However, players from CIFASt persisted as both teams assiduously kept on exchanging points with their several action-packed rallies.
Both teams played all-out from the get-go albeit CIFASt team emerged victorious with the final score of 21-25.
Third years vs. CiFaSt-Alumni Basketball
In the last game of the Tuesday games, the CiFaSt-Alumni Basketball team continued their winning ways as they routed the third year squad to a 46-68 beating.
The win virtually earns them a spot for the finals on Friday, as they pose to defend the basketball championship crown against an opponent whose identity is still to be determined this Wednesday night, in a do or die match between the second years and the third year basketball team
The match is scheduled at 7pm, tonight at Amoranto Sports Complex. The second year volleyball team is also set to face the first year team at 6pm, and the 1st year basketball team is set to compete against the CiFaSt - Alumni at 8pm. [x]
